John Ray Overton

John Ray Overton, age 88, of Biscoe, passed away on October 22, 2024, at FirstHealth Hospice House.

John was born on July 19, 1936, in Moore County to Walter and Julia Freeman Overton. He dedicated 55 years of his life to working for Burlington Industries. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson James Epps.

He is survived by his wife Beatrice Kennedy Overton of the home; daughter Janet Yurick of Biscoe; grandchildren Robbie Brewer, Layla Brewer Stewart, Katelyn Brewer, Eli Brewer and Gypsy Brewer.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Biscoe Cemetery at 4:00 pm with Rev. Rebecca Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Phillips Funeral Home from 2:00-3:00 pm.
