Joyce Bennett McLeod

Biscoe - Pearl Joyce Bennett McLeod, age 74, died Saturday, May 20, 2017, at her home.

Mrs. McLeod was born October 9, 1942 in Richmond County to Earl Lacey and Madie Florence (Frye) Blackman. She was a retired supply clerk at Springs Aileen Plant Inc.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ed Blackman.

She is survived by her husband, Wilburn Calvin McLeod; four daughters: Vickie Freeman (Raymond) of Eagle Springs, Sherry Bennett of Biscoe, Cindy Bennett of Biscoe, and Janet Deaton (Ray) of Star; two sons: David Bennett of Biscoe, Darrell Bennett of Biscoe; brothers and sisters, Ruby Edwards, Carolyn Gunner, Betty Jo Stubbs, Faye Cagle (Melvin), Michael Blackman, Ronnie Blackman, Jean Sellers (Stan), Wayne Blackman (Shirley), and Anita Blackman; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 22, 2017 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Star.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 23, at New Birth Of The Living God in Biscoe with the Rev. Junior Davis officiating. Interment will be in Biscoe Cemetery.
