Star - Lacy Lewis Strickland, Sr., 89, of US Hwy 220 Alt N, died Thursday, October 8, 2015, at his home.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 11, 2015, at West Bend UMC Cemetery with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard and their chaplain, Rev. Tom Barton, officiating.
Mr. Strickland was born in Randolph County to Charlie Harris and Rachel Ilene Robbins Strickland. He was a retired carpenter and was a WWII veteran of the US Marine Corps.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ingles Strickland.
He is survived by his son, Gary Strickland, of the home, Johnny Strickland of Asheboro, Lacy L. Strickland, Jr. of Asheboro; daughters, Sue Sparks of Seagrove, Martha Robertson of Troy, Alice Oates of Troy, Rebecca Grant of Randleman, Janice McDaniel of Randleman; brother, Charlie Strickland, Jr., of Asheboro; sister, Carolyn Nelson, of Asheboro; 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
