Larry S. Newell

Candor - Larry Stephen Newell, age 70, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018.

Mr. Newell was born in Durham County on March 20, 1947 to George Smith Gamble and Ouida Brantley Newell. He was a truck driver for Wayne Dunn Logging and was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He attended Rocky Creek Church.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Thomas Newell, of the home; one daughter, Jennifer Maness Parsons (Paul) of Biscoe; one son, Doug Hicks, of Candor; one sister, Ouida "Prissy" Newell, of Carthage; one brother, John Newell, of Carthage; and five grandchildren, Sydney, Kent, Lydia, Jaycie Beth, and Abreum.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, March 12, 2018, at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. Jamie Sink and Rev. Tony Sedberry officiating.
