Biscoe - Larry Allan Preslar, age 78, died Monday, November 2, 2020, at his residence.
Mr. Preslar was born in Moore County on September 13, 1942 to James Alfred and Marie Brady Preslar of High Falls.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Dale Preslar and his oldest grandson, Jared Ross Reynolds, whom he loved dearly.
He attended East Carolina University and Sanford School of Business. He worked with The Fidelity Bank for 20 years and as Vice-President of First Bank for 30 years. He made a lot of friends and helped a lot of people during this time.
He served the Town of Biscoe as Town Commissioner and Mayor Pro Tem for 28 years and was a member of Biscoe Lion's Club.
He loved playing golf and seeing his friends at the golf course. He enjoyed meeting his buddies for breakfast and spending time with his family. He was an avid fan of Hank Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Crabtree Preslar of the home; daughter, Sharon Preslar Reynolds (Eddie) of Biscoe; son, Derrick Allen Preslar of Star; four grandchildren, Jared, Katelyn, Brittany, and Dakota, who he thought the world of and they loved their "Pop"; brother, Waylon Preslar of High Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
His body will lie in repose from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, at Phillips Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 5, at Biscoe Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Wilson officiating.
