Lennie Garner

Lennie Garner, 86, of Robbins died on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at his residence. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, December 8, at Dover Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Gary Waisner officiating. Mr. Garner was born on January 26, 1928 in Randolph County to Joe and Mima Catherine Williamson Garner. He had been a textile worker; and, was a poultry farmer for most of his life. Mr. Garner was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jennie Mae York Garner; grand-daughters, Alisha and Devin Garner; sister, Iva Dunlap; brothers, Luther, Charlie, Carlie, Otis, and Billy Garner; and, special friend, Jewel Brewer. Mr. Garner is survived by his daughter, Pam Lucas (Larry) of Seagrove; sons, Perry Garner (Belinda) of Sophia, Kim Garner (Deborah) of Robbins, Shane Garner (Karen) of Robbins; sister, Marie Hare of Hampton, VA; brother, Robert Garner (Mae) of Seagrove; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Sunday, December 7, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main St., Star, NC.
