Leo Marshall Epps, Jr.

Star - Leo Marshall Epps, Jr., age 72, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Randolph Health in Asheboro.

Mr. Epps was born in Montgomery County on January 13, 1947, to Leo Marshall Epps, Sr. and Viola VunCannon Epps. He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served during the Vietnam War and was a retired repairman from CenturyLink with 43 years of service. He loved his family and going fishing. He was a faithful member of Center Cross Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Epps, and grandson, Baby Eddie Ryan Epps.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Saunders Epps, of the home; sons, Brian Epps of Biscoe and Jacob Epps and wife, Erica, of Raleigh; sister, Betty Elam, of Troy; brother, Randall Epps and wife, Vanette, of Albemarle; and granddaughter, Macie Beth Epps, of Star.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 13, at Phillips Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 14, at Center Cross Baptist Church with the Rev. Grant Hoffman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
