Leonard Clifford Morgan

Carthage - Leonard Clifford Morgan, 86, of NC Hwy 24-27, died Monday, January 12, 2015. at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 15, 2015, at Rock Hill Friends Church with the Rev. Don McCaskill officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery . Leonard was the son of the late Azra and Annie Williamson Morgan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Pauline Maness Morgan; brother, Floyd, Lester, Joseph, Clarence; sisters, Louise Morgan and Gladys Morgan Brown. He was a retired logger/saw mill operator, loved riding his motorcycles, had worked at Carthage Fabrics, loved his family, and most of all, loved the Lord. He is survived by his son, J. C. Morgan and wife, Vickey, of the home; granddaughter, Wendy Baker and husband, Vonnie, of Wilmington; great-granddaughters, Lilly and Chloe; grandson, Lyn Morgan and wife, Paula, of Bennett; brothers, James and wife, Jeanette, Kenneth and wife, Kay, and Roy, all of Carthage; sisters, Pauline Priest of Carthage, Dorothy Williams and husband, Wilburn, of Eagle Springs, Betty Doris Garner, Beulah Ritter and husband, Richard, Delores Lassiter and husband, Arnold, all of Robbins; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star. Memorials may be made to Rock Hill Friends Church, c/o Delores Lassiter, 577 Marley Road, Robbins, NC 27325.
