Levena Russell Singleton

Troy - Levena Russell Singleton, 93, of Troy, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Forks of Little River Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Vuncannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Singleton Family Cemetery. Mrs. Singleton was born in Montgomery County to John Shirlie and Sally Mae Maness Russell. She was a retired hosiery mill worker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wesley Singleton and son, Theodore Winborn "Teddy" Singleton. She is survived by her daughters, Pat Cagle of Star, Judy Greene and husband, Anthony, of Troy; son, Charles Singleton and wife, Reshell, of Troy; brother, John Lewis Russell of Barnwell, SC; sister, Ailene McRae, of Mt. Gilead; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star. Memorials may be made to Forks of Little River Baptist Church, 2356 Okeewemee-Star Road, Troy, NC 27371.
