ASHEBORO - Mr. Lewis Washington Davis, 83, of 1613 Cedar Grove Rd., Asheboro, died Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Randolph Hospice House.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 7, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Junior Dawkins officiating. Interment will follow in Dover Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Randolph Honor Guard.
Mr. Davis was born in Moore County to Carlie Lee and Hannah Dunn Davis. He was employed for thirty years with the General Electric Company of Asheboro and was a veteran of the U. S. Army. Mr. Davis was a wonderful father who loved to fish and enjoyed music. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Britt Davis, and sons, Audie, Glenn, and Randy.
Surviving are his daughter, Debbie Ingold (Terry) of Asheboro; sons, Kenneth Davis (Laura) of Staley, and Alva Davis (Belinda) of Asheboro; brother, Bernie Davis (Loraine), of Seagrove; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, January 6, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
