Rocky Mount, VA - Lois LaTrelle Hooker McDaniel, 72, of formerly of Star, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, August 30, 2013, at Franklin Health & Rehab. Graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM, Monday, September 2, 2013, at Leach Cemetery in Star with Pastor Roger Jones officiating. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, September 8 at 2:00 PM at Living Waters Assembly of God, Rocky Mount, VA. She was born in Forsyth County to D. E. and Mary Elizabeth Saunders Hooker. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve McDaniel. She is survived by her daughters, Kathi Perdue and husband, David, of Glade Hill, VA, Patti Truesdell and husband, Sam, of Concord, Starlette McDaniel of Lynchburg, VA; son, Scott and wife, Angie Hoskins McDaniel, of Chatham, VA; grandchildren, Tony Perdue, Ronnie Perdue, Lyndsi Perdue Barr, Kari Faith Perdue, Chance Truesdell, Jaron McDaniel, Angel McDaniel Hunt, Jeremiah McDaniel, Alyssa McDaniel, Landon McDaniel; two great-grandchildren; sister, Carlene Logan of Anna, Texas. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM, Monday, September 2, 2013, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
