Lorine "Susie" Hinson Coggins

On June 11, 2024, after a long-fought battle with cancer, God said, my child, your battle is over and took Lorine home to be with Him. She was a loving mother, super grandmother, and an awesome great grandmother. 

Lorine loved singing in the church choir, planting flowers, making flower arrangements for the church, and Memorial Day. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. She enjoyed Bible Study with Jim and Nella Wright. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Biscoe. She also was a retired Registered Nurse from Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

Lorine was preceded in death by her mother and father, Josh and Mamie Hinson; step-father, Gomer Collins; brother, Freddie Hinson; sisters; Maxine Poole, Pauline Painter, Patty Phillips; half sister, Doris Oneill; brother-in-law; Carol Poole; and stepson, Bill Coggins. 

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Max Coggins of the home; sons; Johnny Seawell and Kristen of Robbins, Bryant Coggins and Kristin of Cary; stepsons, Daniel Coggins of Pekin, Todd Coggins of Biscoe; step daughter, Sara Green and George of Troy; grand kids, Brett Seawell and Veronica of South Carolina, Alisa Seawell of South Carolina, and Jeremiah Seawell of Robbins; step grand kids, Anna Coggins Fredell and Billy of Catawba, Dakota Coggins of Troy, Jeremy Kelly and Tina of Georgia; great grand kids, Liam Seawell of South Carolina, Scarlett Seawell of South Carolina; step great grandkids, Patrick Kelly, Alorya Kelly, Emma Fredell, Levi Fredell. Lorine is also survived by two sisters, Mabeline Brower of Star, and Illene Coggins of Biscoe.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 S. Main St., Star, NC from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 303 Lambert Rd., Biscoe, NC at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Mike Greene officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Coggins Family Cemetery, Coggins Road, Biscoe, NC. 

The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Max and Lorine Coggins.
