Cherryville- Madge Ann Leach Coleman, age 81, passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Hospice of Cleveland County has been right beside Madge and her family with compassionate care through the end of her life allowing her to stay at home.
Mrs. Coleman was born in Montgomery County on January 22, 1940, to Arthur and Frances Leach. She was the first born of five children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Madge (Missy) was witty and loved that first morning cup of coffee. She was so talented and could do anything, including sewing, cross stitching, quilting, making costumes for the children and painting for Tom Clark in his famous collectable Gnomes. She loved the mountains and nature as well as her little dog Precious.
She is preceded in death by her parents, stepson Steve Coleman and granddaughter Kerri Hall.
She is survived by her husband, William (Bill) Coleman of the home; son, Terry Hall of Georgia; daughter, Donna Hill (Justin) of Cherryville; stepdaughter, Lorie Coleman Benardella of New Jersey; sisters, Sandra Blue of Biscoe, Rita Crowley of Aberdeen and Bonnie McLeod of Star; brother, Ronnie Leach (Janet) of Biscoe. Grandchildren, Heather Hall, Ty Hall, Tiffany Pruitt of Georgia, Terry Anthony Day (Tad), Krystle Mode (Don), and Kayla Hill. Great grandchildren, Abree, Colton, Brayden, and Zoey Day.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at Macedonia Presbyterian Church, 3269 Candor-Troy Road in Candor from 2:00 - 2:45 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 11 at Macedonia Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Beth Olker and Rev. David Boroughs officiating.
Interment will be in Macedonia Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
