Maie Ellen Davis Cornelison

Star - Maie Ellen Davis Cornelison, 98, formely of Star, died Monday, May 14, 2012, at her daughter's residence, 5352 Seagrove Plank Road, Asheboro. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Asbury Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Clay Davis and Rev. Wayne Bryson officiating. Interment will be in Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery. Mrs. Cornelison was born in Steeds to George and Laura Freeman Davis. She was a retired seamstress at Stedman Manufacturing Company. She loved her family dearly and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore Elvin Cornelison; grandson, Michael Cornelison; ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Lois C. Davis, of Asheboro; sons, Harvey Cornelison and wife, Azilda, of Clemmons, Jerry Cornelison and wife, Phyllis, of Bunnlevel, Paul Cornelison and wife, Carolyn, of Salisbury, David Cornelison and wife, Joyce, of Asheboro; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-great-granddaughter. She leaves behind her faithful and beloved pet, Lucy. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at the home of Lois Davis, 5352 Seagrove Plank Road, Asheboro. Memorials may be made to Asbury Baptist Church, 395 Asbury Church Road, Seagrove, NC 27341 and Hospice of Randolph County, Inc., PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204. A special thanks to her caregiver of three years, Linda Skinner and Hospice of Randolph County.
