Margaret Lee Lyon Nichols

Star - Margaret Lee Lyon Nichols, age 82, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019, at Randolph Health in Asheboro surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Nichols was born in Montgomery County on October 17, 1937, to Benjamin Harrison and Bessie Mae Lucas Lyon. She was a retired hosiery mill worker. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayes Nichols; sister, Martha East; and brothers, Jack Lyon, Ben Lyon, and Harry Lyon.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise Leigh Campbell and husband, Donald, of Star and Ramona Lynn Andrus and husband, Dale, of Troy; sons, Chadwick Hayes Nichols and wife, Melanie, of Star and Jeremy Brent Nichols and wife, Elizabeth, of Troy; sister, Peggy Nichols, of Troy; eleven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her furry dog, Bo.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 26, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home and other times at 1020 Abner Road, Troy.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 27, at Macedonia United Methodist Church in Abner with the Rev. Bill Knapp officiating. Interment will follow in Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
