Mary Sue Woodard

To Family, Friends, and Those Who Share our Sorrow:

Our beloved mother, Mary Sue Farlowe Woodard, passed away on this day, May 23, 2018.

The departure of our mother is deeply mourned as the loss of one whom we loved devoutly, respected reverently, and admired immensely. Our mother gave herself to her four children and her husband, and her sacrifices shielded us all with a love never questioned, never qualified. Her love was only tempered by the bounds of her wisdom and her strength--her wisdom to guide us and her strength to teach us. Nurtured with such love, shepherded with such wisdom, and disciplined with such teaching, we have always known earthly grace and only in the remembrance of what she has done do we find solace from her loss. Whenever there was a need, our mother filled it; whenever there was a stitch lost our mother bound it. The tapestries of our lives are seamless because of our mother. Her devotion to family was complete, and our love for her the same.

She was predeceased by her husband, Billy Thomas Woodard; her mother and father, Charlie and Blanche Farlowe.  She is survived by six grandchildren, Bray, Madison, PJ, Reagan, Kassi, and Jackson and son-in-law, Todd Willis.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 – 10:45 am on Saturday, May 26, at Biscoe Presbyterian Church. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 am with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Lax officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Biscoe Presbyterian Church, PO Box 638, Biscoe, NC 27209.

In the end, we each look back and find a memory of our mother that buoys us for the days ahead while our mother’s soul reunites with our father, her parents, and her two brothers. She is with them now as her faith, trust, and comfort in the Lord was with her always. We, her four children, are heartbroken but we have an unbreakable bond with each other, as our mother made it.
