Mellie Needham McNeill

Seagrove - Mellie Needham McNeill, 89, formerly of Mt. Zion Church Road, died Monday, April 2, 2012, at Randolph Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 5, 2012, at Union Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Dr. Ron Chaney officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. McNeill was born in Surry County to Charlie and Adeline Lineville Needham and was retired from BB Walkers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady H. McNeill, and son, Glen. She is survived by her son, Donnie McNeill (Judy), of Seagrove, daughters, Doris Jenkins, of Thomasville, Judy Poe (Tommy), of Seagrove, Jane Forrester (John), of Seagrove, Rose Garner, of Seagrove; sister, Ozell Calicutt, of Asheboro, 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at her home, 312 Mt. Zion Church Road, Seagrove. Memorials may be made to Union Grove Baptist Church, 7912 Union Grove Church Road, Seagrove, NC 27341.
