Melvin James Brown

Melvin James Brown, age 78, of Seagrove, passed away on May 24, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Brown was born on May 6, 1946, to Arelindo and Iva Comer Brown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Pattie Brown.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Brown of the home; daughters Dee Anna Johnson (Allen) of Bear Creek, and Debbie Griffiths of Raleigh; son Bryon Brown (Sandra) of Cary; grandchildren Anna Andrews (Ryan) of Siler City and Vivian Brown of Cary.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Phillips Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 pm.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Dover Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ed Carter and Rev. Frankie Hall officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
