Michelle McRae Cleaveland, 40, of Star, NC, died Saturday, September 3, 2011 at Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, September 6, at Star Presbyterian Church with The Rev. Mike Holyfield and Doris Long officiating. Interment will follow in Biscoe Cemetery. Mrs. Cleaveland was a 1989 graduate of West Montgomery High School and employed as payroll supervisor with Myrick Construction Company. Survivors include her husband, Butch Cleaveland; daughter, Keely; and sons, Colin and Jake all of the home; parents, Terry and Thelma Jean McRae of Mt. Gilead; sister, Nicole Hurley and husband, Allen, of Asheboro. She is also survived by her father and mother-in-law, Barney and Pam Cleaveland; sister-in-law, Angie Harrell and husband, Michael; brother-in-law, Chris Cleaveland and wife, Kristy; nieces, Mayghan Hurley, Samantha Moore, Justine Hurley, Carrie Cleaveland, Payton Harrell, and Chloe Cleaveland; nephews, Matthew Lanier and Ethan Harrell. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 5, from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at Phillips Funeral Home, 216, South Main St., Star, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 North First St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
