Myra M. Maness
Biscoe - Myra McCaskill Maness, age 57, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 27, 2009.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 31, 2009, at Macedonia Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mark Fisher and the Rev. Anne R. Beach officiating. Burial will follow in Biscoe Cemetery.
Mrs. Maness was born in Montgomery County to the late J.C. and Ila Stewart McCaskill. She was a 1969 graduate of East Montgomery High School and the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She taught school in Montgomery County, Richmond County, and Richmond Community College. She owned and operated the Wright Shop and was a bookkeeper for Maness Trenching Service. She was preceded in death by her sister, Dolores Lee Myrick and brother, Milton McCaskill.
"I can do all things in He who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13. Myra witnessed this verse in her life as she so willingly ministered to others in their time of need. We give thanks for her strength, inspiration, and love to all of us who had the honor of being her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Harold M. "Chip" Maness, of the home; brother, Gary S. McCaskill, of Candor; nieces, Stacey Brown, Julie Lane; nephews, Eddie and Jimmie Myrick, Calvin McCaskill; great niece, Jessica Parsons; aunts, Lucille Leach of Biscoe, Inez Stanford of Jacksonville, Florida; uncle, Maurice McCaskill, of Reno, Nevada.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2009, at Phillips Funeral Home in Star.
