Myrtle Upton Mabe, 92, of Star, died Sunday, March 08, 2015 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, March 10, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Leach Cemetery. Mrs. Mabe was born in Moore County to John Raeford and Ina Louise Hogan Upton. She had been an employee of Clayson Knitting Company. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mabe was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Madison Mabe, and siblings, Mabel Maness, Nora Mabe, Rocity Bodsford, Farrell Upton, Lloyd Upton, and Dorothy Snow. Surviving are her daughter, Jean Mabe Maness of Biscoe; son, Bill Mabe of North Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Eva Upton Auman of Candor; grandchildren, Shannon Maness Robinson (Jeff) of Biscoe, Sharon Maness Blake (Dwayne) of Biscoe; great-grandchildren, Devin Blake, Blair Robinson, Jeana Blake, and Justin Robinson. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM - 3:50 PM, Tuesday, March 10, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
