Catherine Cagle, age 72, of Sneads Ferry NC, died Friday, October 30th at home in attendance of Hospice and surrounded by family and friends after a short and sudden illness.
Please join the family in celebration of her life. Visitation will be held at Phillips Funeral Home in Star, NC, Friday, November 6th from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held at Union Grove Baptist Church in Seagrove on Saturday, November 7th at 2:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Whynot Memorial Association Cemetery.
Catherine was born June 21st, 1937 at home in the Whynot community, near Seagrove in Randolph County to the late Lonnie Clarence and Dellamaie Graves Cagle. She attended and graduated from Seagrove School, Class of 1954. She was a teacher's assistant at Seagrove Elementary School and later retired from Luck's Inc in Seagrove.
She married Bobby Ray Cagle of Ether NC, October 30th 1954. Their 55 years together was spent loving their children, extended family and friends to the fullest. The couple built and operated a small cafe and truck stop on HWY 220 in the early 1960s called Bo and Kays. The building was later operated as Seagrove Family Restaurant for many years. They established a successful concrete construction company that was in operation for over 25 years. After retirement they made their home in the small fishing community of Sneads Ferry, on the coast of North Carolina.
Catherine was preceded in death by first born son, Kevin Paul Cagle, 10 years old, in 1966.
She is survived by her husband, Bob Cagle and children; Eric and wife, Clare Cagle; Paulanne and husband, Robert Page, all of Sneads Ferry, Teresa and Orville Teague of Seagrove and Tammy and Bruce Dupree of Seven Lakes. Grandchildren are Della Cagle, Chase Page, Janet Cagle, Daniel Page, Kevin Cagle, Lani Page and Tommy Ray Woodell of Randleman.
Surviving siblings are four brothers and one sister, Roger Cagle of Seagrove; Joe Cagle of Lynchburg VA; Gerald Cagle of Seagrove; Benny Cagle of Anderson SC and Susan Cagle King of Seagrove.
Her life purpose was to love and provide for others with caring hands and a loving heart.
