STAR - Naomi L. Nichols, 93, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at North Pointe Assisted Living in Asheboro.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesady, June 18, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Elder John Wingfield officiating. Interment will be in Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, 1971 Ether Rd., Star.
Mrs. Nichols was born January 26, 1921 to the late George and Rachel Lucas. She loved her family, friends, and her church. She enjoyed crocheting dish cloths, making quilts, and cooking for family and friends. Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Nichols; grandson, Ricky Nichols; brothers, Robert Lucas and Glenn Lucas; and sister, Ruth Wood.
Surviving are her sons, Raymond H. Nichols and wife, Pat, of High Point, Richard Nichols and wife, Margaret, of Star, and Danny G. Nichols and wife, Patsy, of Asheboro; daughters, Sylvia Traynham and husband, Carey, of Harrisburg, Cathy York and husband, Wayne, of Ramseur; brothers Hal Lucas of Star, George Lucas of Star; sisters, Kate Bell of Asheboro, Helen Burns of Asheboro, Margie Royal of Troy; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and, numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June18, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
