Nora Upton Mabe

Seagrove - Nora Upton Mabe, age 91, formerly of 205 Davis Road, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at FirstHealth Moore Regional in Pinehurst. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 2, 2010, at Dover Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Dr. Don Davis and the Rev. Boyd Byerly officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She was born in Moore County and was the eldest child of the late John and Ina Hogan Upton. She married Paul C. Mabe on April 12, 1941 and was a homemaker. Preceding her in death was her husband, Paul,sons, Dalton Mabe and Larry Mabe, both formerly of Asheboro, infant twin boys, brother, Lloyd Upton, and sister, Rocity Bodsford. Surviving are son, Randy J. Mabe and wife, Mildred, of Seagrove; daughter-in-laws, Kathleen Rushing Mabe of Asheboro, Dianne Bullins Mabe of Asheboro; sisters, Eva Auman (Clarence) of Seagrove, Mabel Maness (Willie) of Seagrove, Myrtle Mabe of Star, Dorothy Snow of Elizabeth City; brother, Farrell Upton of Seagrove; grandchildren, Michael Mabe, Connie Mabe, both of Seagrove, Karen Kearns (Anthony), Teresa Greene (Bobby), Richard Mabe (Melinda), Bradley Mabe (Jennifer), Amanda Mabe, all of Asheboro; great-grandchildren, Brittany Mabe, Matthew Kearns, Justin Greene, Devan Mabe, Jarett Mabe, Kailey Mabe, Brianna Mabe, Sadie Mabe. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, January 1, 2010, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at 205 Davis Road, Seagrove.
