Biscoe - Norman Winecoff "Bub" Lyerly, 95, of 520 East Main Street, died Thursday, December 15, 2011, at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 17, 2011, at Page Memorial UMC, where he was a member, with Rev. Kjersti DeVries officiating. Internment will follow in Biscoe Cemetery. Mr. Lyerly was born in Rowan County to Harry Craig and Pearl Elizabeth Winecoff Lyerly. He was retired from Biscoe Foundry Service and was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Ruth Whitley Lyerly; sisters, Mabel Wilkinson, Frances Edmiston; brother, Carl Lyerly. Surviving are his daughter, Jean L. (James) Jackson, of Tampa, FL; brother, Dick Lyerly, of Mooresville; three grandchildren, Cindi (Rodney) Goodwin of Biscoe, Beau (Tiffany) Jackson of Biscoe, Lisa (Curt) Dailey of Tampa, FL; four great-grandchildren, Brooke Dailey, Carlie-Paige Goodwin, Keira Dailey, Mason Jackson. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Page Memorial UMC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Page Memorial UMC, PO Box 88, Biscoe, NC 27209.
