Star - Ora Kate Freeman, age 96, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at her home.
Mrs. Freeman was born in Montgomery County on December 11, 1922, to Kemper Gray and Emma Lee Smith Freeman. She was a retired inspector for Lancer Inc and was a member of Star United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Alexander Freeman; daughters, Kay Ann Freeman and Susan Lane Freeman; grandson, Christopher Freeman; and sisters, Dixie Freeman and Wanda Williams.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Johnson and husband, Tony, of Biscoe, sons, Tony Freeman and wife, Sarah, of Greensboro, Ricky Freeman and wife, Sissy, of Biscoe, David Freeman and wife, Pamela, of Asheboro, and Tommy Freeman and wife, Jilinda, of Albemarle; sister, Savanah "Chunk" Allen of Star; grandchildren, Kelly Patterson, Matthew Freeman, Charity Hicks and husband, Justin, Ryan Johnson and wife, Meredith, Katherine Smith and husband, Matthew, Lydia Beesley and husband, Matthew, Meghan Johnson, Alexis Freeman, Alek Freeman, and Emma Freeman; and great-grandchildren, Vincent, Claire, Zoey, Christopher, Layla, Bryson, Caroline, Jameson, and Anna Kate.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m., Thursday, April 4, at Star United Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Kay Boone officiating. Interment will follow in Ether United Methodist Church Cemetery.
