Robbins - Ottis Garner, 79, of 972 Browns Chapel Road, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 20, 2011, at Browns Chapel Christian Church with the Rev. Michael Parenti and Rev. James Brewer officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
He was born in Moore County to Joe Luther and Mima Catherine Williamson Garner. He was retired from Springs Inc and was a veteran of the US Army where he served during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are his sons, R. Wayne Garner, Ray Garner, Gary L. Garner, all of Robbins; daughters, Sue Garner Watts, Tammy Garner Seawell, both of Carthage; brothers, Lennie Garner, Robert Garner, both of Robbins; sister, Marie Hare, of Hampton, VA; 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, February 19, 2011, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at the home.
