Owen Carter Greene

Candor - Owen Carter Greene, age 6, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, January 28, 2019, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

Owen was born in Stanly County on June 19, 2012, to his parents, Jeremy and Amber Greene. He was a first-grade student at Uwharrie Charter Academy Elementary School. He was his father's buddy and his mama's baby. He loved playing with his brothers, animals, and his fuzzy blanket.

He was preceded in death by his great-great-grandparents, Edgar and Faye Allen; great-grandparents, Josiah and Evelyn Jackson, Jr.; and aunt, Annette Greene.

He is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Amber Greene; brothers, Nathan Greene and Grant Greene; grandparents, Jerry and Gwendolyn Greene, of Candor, and Dawn Blake and her husband, Danny, of Troy; great-grandmother, Lois Allen, of Star; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, at Phillips Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Greene officiating.  Interment will follow in the Greene-Allen Family Cemetery in Star. 

He was a ray of sunshine and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him was blessed.
