Paris Hurley Smith

Star - Paris Hurley "Red" Smith, 81, of 2434 US Hwy 220 N, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011, at FirstHealth Moore Regional in Pinehurst. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 17, 2011, at Browns Chapel UMC, Pittsboro, with the Rev. Ray Gooch officiating. Mr. Smith was born in Alamance County to Jesse Lewis and Della Marley Smith. He was a retired machine operator in furniture manufacturing. He was preceded in death by his wives, Arlene F. Smith and Emma McBride Smith; daughter, Susan Braxton; and grandson, Glenn Braxton, Jr. He is survived by his step-son, Larry Lilly and wife, Kathryn, of Star; step-daughter, Dianne Lilly Tucker, of Myrtle Beach, SC; six grandchildren, Brian Braxton, Chris Braxton, Wendy Aderholt Berrios, Amy Wallace, Michael Aderholt, Hannah Lilly; eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at the home.
