Seagrove - Paul Reece Mabe, age 78, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehabilitation in Biscoe.

Mr. Mabe was born in Montgomery County to Paul Jones and Verlie Ester (Hall) Mabe. He was a retired hosiery mill employee with 48 years of service. After his retirement, he worked at Walmart in Biscoe. He was a member of New Center Christian Church, where he served as a deacon for 42 years. He also served his church as a teacher and Sunday school superintendent throughout the years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Reece Mabe; brother, Floyd Mabe; and his mother-in-law, Mary Albright Chriscoe.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy Chriscoe Mabe; one daughter, Kathy Mabe of Asheboro; one son, Keith Mabe (fiancée, Beth) of Seagrove; two sisters, Claris Hartis (Mack) of Charlotte and Carlene Idol (Ernie) of Indian Trail; one brother, D.J. Mabe (Frances) of Biscoe; and several nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 12:30 - 1:45 PM at New Center Christian Church.

The funeral will begin at 2:00 PM at New Center Christian Church with the Rev. Jonathan Burris, Rev. Terry Craig, and Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating. Interment will follow in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
