Philip Bailey

Philip John Bailey Sr., age 56, of Biscoe, passed away on February 23, 2025, at Duke Medical Center.

Born on June 30, 1968, in Salamanca, NY, Philip was the son of Douglas and Jane Russell Bailey. He dedicated his life to education, earning a Master’s degree from Pfeiffer University, and teaching in several schools across Montgomery County. Most recently, he was a beloved teacher at Star Elementary School, where he was honored as the 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year.

Philip had a passion for painting, woodworking, and listening to classic rock music. He was known for his playful spirit, often delighting those around him with his playful pranks and he was known as a passionate Buffalo Bills fan. Above all, Philip's love for his students was unparalleled. He touched the lives of many, sharing joy and happiness wherever he went. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.

He is survived by his son, PJ Bailey of Biscoe; his sisters, Wendy Bailey, Sarah Filegar, and Barbara Morales; and his brothers, Wayne Bailey, Ronald Bailey, and Douglas Bailey and their children.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
