Raleigh Willie Dunn

Biscoe - Raleigh Willie Dunn, Jr., known as "Brother" to many others, 67, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Wilmington Health & Rehabilitation Center with his daughters by his side. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating. Raleigh was born in Montgomery County to Raleigh Dunn, Sr., and Josie Mae Davis Dunn. He was a retired house painter that took great pride in his work. He was a kind, gentle, and loving man. He enjoyed old cars and traveling on his Honda Goldwing. He especially enjoyed spending time on the Blue Ridge Parkway on his motorcycle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Coleman. He is survived by his daughters, Candy Benjamin and husband, James, of Wilmington, Brandy Burnett and husband, Mike, of Leland; sisters, Libby Hicks of Candor, Billie Shirlen and husband, Jimmy, of Biscoe; grandchildren, Raven, Chloe, Ryan, and MaKenna. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday, January 3, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
