Ramona Freeman Kivett

Ramona Freeman Kivett passed away peacefully at Westwood Health & Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, July 13, 2024. 

She was a lively 95 years old. Ramona enjoyed vacations to Atlantic Beach, spending time with family, and caring for her pets. She never wanted a stray to go hungry.

Ramona was born to Neill W. Freeman & Thelma J. Freeman on October 25, 1928, in the family home in Star, NC. She was the youngest of four children.

Ramona married William A. Kivett on December 3, 1948. The couple had two sons, Michael Charles Kivett & William Barry Kivett.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Neill & Thelma Freeman, her siblings, Neill W. Freeman Jr, Irene F. Brewer, and Edith Freeman, and sons Michael Kivett and Barry Kivett.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Melody Kivett, her grandchildren, Michael “Mickey” Kivett, Melinda Johnson, Morgan White, Jessica Pinder, and Robert Sweeting, 11 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Leach Cemetery at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Ramona’s memory to The Humane Society of the Uwharries at PO Box 231, Troy, NC 27371.
