Reece Gideon King

Seagrove - Reece Gideon King, age 83, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at his home.

Mr. King was born in Montgomery County on February 3, 1936, to Rev. Bascom and Vellie Cole King. He was a master carpenter and was retired from Montgomery County Schools, where he worked in maintenance. He was a member of Asbury Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Comer King; brothers, Elrin, Lamon, Grady, Rochie, Evin, and Lenard King; and sisters, Virginia Shelton, Ida Auman, Gatha Bym, Doris King, and Molly Reeder.

He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Hussey and husband, Donald, of Seagrove; sons, Gary King and wife, Janet, of Seagrove, and Yancy King and wife, Kelley, of Siler City; brothers, Don Willard King and wife, Elda, of Happy Hollow and Michael King and wife, Sue, of Carolina Beach; grandchildren, Natalie Poe and husband, Brian, Olivia Garner, Dustin King, Aaron Scott, Rebecca Crawford and husband, Cameron, and Will Hussey; and great-grandchildren, Reece Poe and Kynleigh Poe.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 27, from 3:00 - 3:45 p.m. at Asbury Baptist Church.

The funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
