Richard Junior Sheffield

Richard Junior Sheffield, age 79, of Star, passed away on December 11, 2024, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

Richard was born in Montgomery County on August 10, 1945, to Carl and Christine Greene Sheffield. Richard graduated from East Montgomery High School, Class of 1963 and he then went on to proudly serve in the United States Army. After his military service, Richard dedicated his career to the NC Department of Corrections, Montgomery Community College, and Montgomery County Schools,.

He is survived by his wife Mary Magdalene Sheffield of the home; sons Perry Wallace (Debbie) of Star and Gary Sheffield (Crystal) of Star; daughters Sherry Dunn (Benjy) of Biscoe; and Shelia Stull (Rick) of Ohio; sisters Wendy, Betty, Pat and brother Roger Sheffield. Grandsons Derrick, Nate, Pierce and Ben; granddaughters Abigail, Makayla, Lindsey and Isabella. As well as great grandchildren Jaden, AJ, Asher, Ace, Parker, Truett, Nolan, and Maris.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 11:00 am at Brown's Chapel Christian Church with Rev. Shaun Garner officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00-10:45 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by Randolph Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made in Richard's honor to Brown's Chapel Christian Church at 608 Brown's Chapel Rd., Robbins, NC 27325.
