Roy Edward Maness, 66, of 3600 US Alt. 220 N., Seagrove, died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 3, at Southside Baptist Church, 125 Cedar Creek Rd., Biscoe, with the Rev. Jamie Sink and the Rev. Dr. Bruce Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Biscoe Cemetery.
Born in Moore County to Curtis Walter and Mary Royal Maness, he was a graduate of Moore County Schools and was retired from Clayson Knitting Company where he worked for 38 years as maintenance manager and truck driver. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Maness attended Southside Baptist Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan and champion short track race car driver.
Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Dorothy Richardson Maness, of the home; daughter, Jennifer Maness Parsons (Paul), of Biscoe; brothers, Carl Maness and Howard Maness, both of Troy; sister, Ruth Lamonds, of Star; granddaughters, Sydney Tucker of Star and Jaycie Beth Parsons of Biscoe; great-grandson, Abreum Goldsborough, of Star.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Monday, December 2, at Southside Baptist Church.
