Ruby Brown Bennett

Star - Ruby Brown Bennett, 92, of 286 Woodland Drive, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, July 15, 2011, at First Baptist Church, Star, where she was a member, with the Rev. Ralph Smith and Dr. David Boroughs officiating. Interment will be in Forks of Little River Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Bennett was born in Randolph County to Thomas A. and Mary Martin Brown. She was a retired hosiery mill employee and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Eugene Bennett. She is survived by her daughters, Frances Williams, Linda Cagle and husband, Curt, Joyce Barber and husband, Ted, all of Star; son, Larry Bennett, of the home; brother, J. T. Brown, of Bear Creek; three grandchildren, Krystle Black and husband, Alex, Stacey Barber, Misty Barber, all of Star; 1 great-granddaughter, Lily Black, of Star. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 14, 2011, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star, and other times at the home of Curt and Linda Cagle, 128 Woodland Drive, Star, NC 27356. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Randolph Hospice House, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.
