Ruby Henderson McFarland

Seagrove - Ruby May Henderson McFarland, age 82, died Thursday, October 1, 2020, at Randolph Health in Asheboro. Mrs. McFarland was born in Halifax County, Virginia on January 23, 1938. She was a retired nursing home nurse’s aide. She was preceded in death by her father, Truitt Henderson; mother, Bernice Conner; daughter, Elizabeth Watson; and brother, Wayne Henderson. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Lee McFarland, of the home; daughter, Sherry Long and husband, Bobby of Marshallberg; son, Linwood McFarland and wife, Margie of Seagrove; sister, Jean James of Roxboro; brothers, Terry Henderson of Roxboro, Ronnie Henderson of Roxboro, Donnie Henderson of Roxboro, and Scott Henderson of Roxboro; grandchildren, Jeremiah Carter, Taylor Long, Lee McFarland, and Corey Long; great-grandchildren, Adyline Carter, Jeremiah Carter, Jr., Emi-Rose Carter, William McFarland, and Lilly McFarland. Her body will lie in state from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., Monday, October 5, and from 8:00 – 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 6, at Phillips Funeral Home. A graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 6, at Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Clyde Eborn officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.phillipsfh.com.
