Ruth McDuffie Smith

Candor - Nettie Ruth McDuffie Smith, 86, died Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at her son's home.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 5, 2016, at Big Oak Christian Church with the Rev. Pete Smith officiating. Interment will be in church cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born in Moore County to Henry B. and Nettie Lewis McDuffie, She was retired from the folding department at Russell Hosiery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Junior Smith; son, Kenneth Smith; twin brother, Roy McDuffie, brother, Arthur McDuffie; sisters, Myrtle Johnson, Pauline Jackson.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Callicutt of Seagrove, Tammy Smith of Candor; son, Henry Allen Smith of Candor; sisters, Maxine McLean of Biscoe, Mozelle Smith of Candor; grandchildren, Kim Wall, Michael Smith, April Myrick, Alex Smith, Tonya Smith, Tiffany Batten, and Ethan Callicutt; 9 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, November 4, 2016, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
