Seagrove - Shirley Eliza Leonard Roberts, 94, of Trinity Church Road, died Sunday, August 23, 2015, at her home. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 26, 2015, at Trinity Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Josh Leroy and the Rev. Larry Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet UMC Cemetery. Mrs. Roberts was born in Surry County to Thomas Walker and Sarah Savannah King Leonard. She was a retired cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. William E. "Bill" Roberts; children, William Kenneth Roberts, June Adare Davis, Michael Thomas "Mike" Roberts, and Billy Ray Roberts. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Ferree (Billy), of Seagrove; son, Danny Roberts (Phyllis), of Candor, daughter-in-law, Nancy Roberts, of Asheboro; sister, Rena Shelton (Duke), of Mt. Airy; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star.
