Sue Stoker Blake passed away Dec. 7, 2024, in Sugar Land, TX, after a lengthy illness.
A private graveside service was held Dec. 22, 2024, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Troy, NC, with a memorial service scheduled in Sugar Land.
Sue was born Jan. 10, 1934, in Troy, to Manuel and Anna Stoker. She married Curtis Blake on Feb. 9, 1955, and together they had three daughters, Terry, Georgie, and Cathy.
The Blakes lived in a variety of locales with Curtis’s 21-year U. S. Air Force career and later ordination as a Southern Baptist pastor, including Biscoe, NC; Fort Worth, TX; Austin, TX; Grand Forks, ND; Marysville, WA; and Kyushu, Japan. Sue possessed a strong faith in Christ and was a faithful church member, singing in the choir, leading WMU, and teaching Sunday school.
Predeceased by Terry and Curtis, she is survived by daughters Georgie Lancaster (J. E.) and Cathy Brown (Clay); sisters Anna Beeson and Dru Ingold; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
