Thurman Augusta Chriscoe

Seagrove - Thurman Augusta Chriscoe, age 89, passed away on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at FirstHealth Moore Regional in Pinehurst. Mr. Chriscoe was born in Montgomery County on April 8, 1931, to Everette and Mabel Yow Chriscoe. He was a retired supervisor with Burlington Industries and was a well-known farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Gene Chriscoe; sisters, Viola Shelton and Doris Keeling; and brother, Norman Chriscoe. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Virginia Odom Chriscoe, of the home; daughter, Angela Johnson (Benton) of Candor; son, Gary Chriscoe (Rose) of Franklinville; sisters, Mary Black of Randleman, Susie Singleton (Melvin) of Star, and Vera Beane (Henry) of Randleman; brothers, Glenn Chriscoe of Randleman and James Chriscoe (Faye) of Randleman; grandchildren, Brittany Nicole Mabe, Sarah and Erin Johnson, all of Candor, Keith Chriscoe (Melissa) of Star, Larry Wayne Chriscoe (Kara) of Star, Karen Ostwald (Gunnar) of Randleman, Janet Fisher (Dylan), Brandon Chriscoe, Heather Clark, and Brian Chriscoe; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Mr. Chriscoe's body will lie in repose from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., Thursday, March 18, at Phillips Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 19, at Big Oak Church of God Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Chriscoe and Tim Beck officiating.
