Star - Tony Paul Nichols, 72, of 771 Hurley Farm Road, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 15, 2013, at Grace Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Flynn Richardson and Rev. Arlen Johnson officiating. Interment will be in Suggs Creek Primitive Baptist Cemetery. He was born in Montgomery County to Kennie Delbert and Bertie Ellen Hurley Nichols. He was a retired motor grader operator for Thompson Arthur Paving Company. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Lyons Nichols, of the home; sons, Jeffrey Alan DeHart, of Star, Tony Brian Nichols, of Star; daughters, Lynn Maness, of Star, Donna Whitley, of New London; sister, Minnie Nichols, of Star; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at the home.
