Vance Hester Spivey

Star - Vance Hester Spivey, 70, of 303 Center Street, died Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at UNC Hospitals. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 5, 2011, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Moore and Rev. Britt Hadley officiating. Interment will be in Dover Baptist Church Cemetery. He was a native of Montgomery County and was a retired machinist at Energizer. Surviving are his daughters, Deborah Hadley and husband, Britt, of Indian Trail, Angela Davis and husband, Rodney, of Bear Creek; special friend, Vera Joyce, of Ether; sister, Laverne Deaton, of Troy; three grandchildren, Jessica Davis, Jeremy Davis, and Rachel Davis. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, February 4, 2011, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star and other times at the home of Beth Kearns, 104 Monroe Street, Star.
