Verlie Hall Mabe, 99, formerly of Ether, died Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the home of her daughter in Indian Trail.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 22, at Ether United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Shirlen and Rev. Jonathan Burris officiating. Interment will be in White Oak Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Born in Moore County to Alex and Annie Davis Hall, Mrs. Mabe had worked in her home as a looper for Russell Hosiery Mill and was later employed at Pine Hosiery. She was faithful to her church and enjoyed holding and loving the babies in her family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Mabe was predeceased by her husband Paul J. Mabe; son, Floyd Mabe; grandson, Jerry R. Mabe; four sisters, and four brothers.
Surviving are her sons, Reece Mabe of Seagrove, D. J. Mabe of Biscoe; daughters, Carlene Idol of Indian Trail, Claris Hartis of Charlotte; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and, two great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00-1:45 pm, Wednesday, June 22, at Ether United Methodist Church.
