Virginia Davis Carter

Virginia "Jenny" Davis Carter, 74, of Troy, died Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast in Concord. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 25, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating. Interment will follow in Biscoe Cemetery. Mrs. Carter was born on September 22, 1940 to Albert and Ruby Cooper Davis. Jenny was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired as a quality inspector for Collins & Aikman Corp. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carter was predeceased by twelve brothers and sisters. Surviving are her husband, Douglas (Doug) Carter of the home; sons, Fred Carter (Roxanne) of Apex, Kevin Carter of Troy; daughter, Kathy Hilliard of Troy; sister, Maude Morgan (J. E.) of Pleasant Garden; grandchildren, Anna, Kasey, and Rachel Carter, Nicole and Dillion Hilliard; and, great-granddaughter, Raeanna Parson. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 PM - 1:45 PM, at Phillips Funeral Home, 216 South Main Street, Star. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 25, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Shirley officiating. Interment will follow in Biscoe Cemetery.
