Wesley Ray Spivey

Star - Wesley Ray Spivey, age 80, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. Ray was born in Randolph County on October 1, 1939 to Henry and Nannie Elizabeth Freeman Spivey. He served in the United States Army, was retired from Energizer in Asheboro, and was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dallas Spivey. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joann Coggins Spivey, of the home; sister-in-law, Julia Spivey; and nieces and nephews. His body will lie in state at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 29 and from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Saturday, May 30. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 30, at Biscoe Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating.
