William "Bill" Carl Smith

Biscoe - William "Bill" Carl Smith, age 82, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehabilitation in Biscoe. Bill was born in Montgomery County on May 7, 1938 to Dewey A. and Era Violet Brooks Smith. He was a veteran of the US Navy and was the owner/mechanic of Smith and Son Garage. He was an avid fisherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ted Smith. He is survived by his wife, Pat Sheffield Smith of the home; daughter, Karen Frye and husband, Roger of Troy; son, Greg Smith and wife, Tabitha of Star; brother, Danny Smith of Shallotte; and grandchildren, Kayla, Gracie, Justin Frye and wife, Emily; and great-grandchildren, Andros and Tinley. Bill's body will lie in repose from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 13, at Phillips Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 14, at Leach Cemetery with the Rev. Hubert McLeod officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.phillipsfh.com.
