Asheboro - William Edgar "Eddie" Cagle, III, age 50, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 3, 2021 at his residence.
Eddie was born in Randolph County on October 28, 1970, to William Edgar Cagle, Jr. and Lynnie Maybelle Comer Cagle. He was a graduate of East Montgomery High School and Methodist College, where he played football for four years. He was the owner/CEO of G Force South in Asheboro and a member of Asbury Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Lynnie Comer; paternal grandparents, William and Nerva Cagle; and uncle, Clyde Comer, Jr.
He is survived by his father, William Edgar Cagle, Jr. and wife, Rachel of Seagrove; sister, Rhonda Cagle Mashburn and husband, June of Seagrove; brother, Lynn Ellis Cagle of Asheboro; and his beloved "Snuggles" his niece, Isabelle Mashburn of Seagrove.
He is also survived by his aunts, Rosalie Comer Booker and husband, Layton of Candor, LaVonne Comer Ritter and husband, Marshall of Seagrove, and Mary Belle Cagle Kennedy of Robbins; cousins, Clyde Ellis Comer III (Jennifer), Andrew Ritter (Shirley), Audra Loftin (Chris), Charles Booker, Matthew Comer (Michaelia), and John Ritter (Susan); and other extended family.
Eddie's body will lie in repose from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., Thursday, May 6, at Phillips Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 7, at Asbury Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Upton and Rev. Allen Mashburn officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
