William Arthur Ewing

William Arthur "Bill" Ewing, age 76, of Rome, Georgia passed away Thursday September 21, 2017.

Mr. Ewing was born December 9, 1940 in Candor, NC where he was raised. He was a member of Rome First United Methodist Church. Mr. Ewing spent 42 years in the textile industry. His last years in textile were spent with Galey and Lord in Shannon, Ga. In his later years, he transported vehicles for Riverside Auto Group. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Asbill Ewing, in August 2013, his parents, Daniel Issac Ewing, Dorothy Cushing Ewing, and brother, Daniel Issac Ewing, Jr.

Survivors include daughters, Elizabeth Heath, and husband, Bradley, Cartersville; Beverly Pennington, and husband Lee, Albemarle, NC.; Barbara Willingham, and husband Roy, Rome; grandchildren, Ross (Morgan) Pennington, Trey Pennington, Allie (Jake) Tester, Dylan Munsey, Veronica Munsey, Lauren Willingham, and Trisha Heath, great granddaughter, Evelynn Tester, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 P.M. Sunday September 24, 2017 at Good Shepherd Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Dr. Robert Brown, and Rev. Chris Barbieri, officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 P.M. until the service hour on Sunday at Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 2750 Shorter Ave. Rome, Ga. 30165.

Graveside and interment services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Monday September 25, 2017 at Biscoe Cemetery, in Biscoe, NC.

Memorials may be made to the Rome First United Methodist Church, 202 Third Ave. Rome, Ga. 30161.

Pallbearers include Trey Pennington, Dylan Munsey, Ross Pennington, Mickey Mabe, Sam Ewing, and Daniel Ewing.

Phillips Funeral Home in Star will serve the family at the interment in Biscoe Cemetery.
